THE TREATMENT OF AXILLA RY OSMID ROSIS BY SUCTION CURETTAGE

Abstract
There are versatile surgical methods for axillary osmidrosis, which have their own merits and drawbacks. Especially, recurrence and scarring of operation site are cumbersome problems.
We adopted suction curettage to 40 patients(80 axillars) of the axillary osmidrosis for the purpose of less scarring, from January 1988 to June 1989.
The advantage of this procedure is that shoulder movement is not limited by scar, the healing time is shortened, and the period of immobilization is minimized.
Consequently, it is concluded that axillary suction curettage is one of the recommendable surgical modalities for osmidrosis, especially for the patient who required wide operation field or extremely fears of the postoperative scar.
